BEST SIX 2005 - SILVER POCKET
Silver pocket corkscrews in the form of a "T" come in various forms, and they are often unique, demonstrating the skill of
the silversmith. These corkscrews have very littleion. reference except the mark of the silversmith, but they can be seen in many corkscrew books and
Christie's catalogs.
This corkscrew is very fine and has a beautiful tortoiseshell handle, which can only be truly experienced in light. However, there is a very unique feature
in that the bottom of the sheath has numbers going around the base representing the days of the month. I am not sure but
I believe something is missing from the top part of the sheath, that would have completed the calendar function. I have not seen any other examples
like this.
I bought this at an auction in the U.K.
