
BOXED CHAMPAGNE TAPS
We immediately took to Champagne taps, but we couldn't understand why you would draw off only a little of the precious liquid!

The Champion
Unlike the normal screw tap types, this tap fits into the bottle after the cork has been removed. It is marked "JH&S", presumably for James Heeley & Sons.

Unmarked Tap
This tap is unmarked and is a plain brown box! The instructions are titled "Directions for using a bottle of champagne with drawing the cork".

Unmarked Tap
This tap employs a beautiful ebony handle to screw the tap through the cork, at which time the handle is removed to allow the liquid to flow.

Champagne Tap No.2100
Manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark in New Britain, CT. This tap also employs a pin through the tap to help penetrate the cork.

Manufactured by Schieffelin Co. of New York. The pin is for cleaning the inside of the tap and screw.
